Gibson ES 175. 1954. Vintage Gibson guitar from 1954. Arch top in sunburst with P 90 microphone. Extremely well maintained instrument that plays like a dream. Mahogany neck with Brazilian rosewood, original frets, maple body top and Mahogany back and sides, which are bound in light moldings with just the right patina. Color is rich and deep. The guitar is without breaks, cracks and scratches, only light traces of use and a patina that you only find on genuine vintage instruments. The P 90' has just the perfect sound for arch top, crisp, warm and transparent sound reproduction. Even the strapholder is not fitted, they were delivered without it, so the new owner could decide the location himself. The nitro lacquer has cracking, but is not brittle. So what has happened over the last 70 years. Potmeters have been replaced, original ones included. One mechanism has been changed (D string) to an "original" Gibson, produced by Kluson, of later production. The tailpiece is of a more recent date, All parts, which is a true copy of the correct one, it is a widespread problem that the old ones get "tired" in the joints and have difficulty keeping the tuning, the original is included and can be made! The original case is produced by Lifton. The condition is rarely seen better, considering the age. All hinges play and handles are solid. The pink lining is just another vintage feature that just plays to the max against the brown color on the outside. The case is solid all around and the "glove department" has a good tight 'close'.
