The Masterbilt Excellente is a modern reissue of one of the rarest acoustic guitars in Epiphone history. The original model, made between 1963 and 1970 in Gibson's Kalamazoo factory, was produced in only 139 examples, making it one of the most sought-after vintage Epiphone acoustics. Made famous by country music legend Loretta Lynn, it returns to the Masterbilt line with all-solid wood construction: a solid Sitka spruce top, solid ovangkol back and sides, an ebony fingerboard and bridge, a bone nut and saddle, as well as stunning mother-of-pearl Cloud inlays and vintage-style gold Waffleback tuners. Its Square Shoulder body shape delivers a balanced, midrange-rich tone with well-defined bass and excellent response for both chords and fingerstyle playing. Equipped with a Fishman Sonitone/Presys VT preamp, it's equally at home on stage and in the studio. In very good condition.
