This is a Gibson Custom Shop '60 Les Paul Junior finished in Faded Vintage White, built in 2006 as part of a dedicated run for the Japanese market through Yamano Gakki, one of Gibson's longest standing and most respected distributors in Japan. These Yamano export models were produced to Custom Shop standards and represent some of the finest Les Paul Junior reissues Gibson has ever made - built with the same care and attention as the Nashville Historic Series but released exclusively through the Japanese dealer network, making them genuinely uncommon outside of Japan.

The '60 specification distinguishes this guitar from the earlier slab-body Juniors of the late 1950s. By 1960 Gibson had introduced the double cutaway body shape and slimmed down the neck profile, and this guitar faithfully replicates that later, slightly more refined feel while retaining everything that makes the Junior such a compelling instrument - the flat mahogany slab body, the single P-90 pickup, the simple wrap-around bridge, and that complete absence of excess that puts all the tone and feel front and centre.

The Faded Vintage White relic finish is the correct colour for this model, capturing the look of an original late 1950s Junior finish that has aged and faded beautifully over the decades. Gibson's Custom Shop relic treatment has been applied with genuine skill here - the nitrocellulose finish shows fine checking and softening throughout, the neck back carries deliberately worn lacquer exposing the mahogany beneath, and carefully placed dings and marks complete the picture of a well-loved original. The result is a guitar that looks and feels broken in from the first moment you pick it up.

The bridge pickup has been upgraded to a Monty's P-90, with the original Gibson pickup retained safely in the case. Monty's are widely regarded as one of the finest boutique P-90 makers available, and the upgrade only adds to what is already an exceptional platform - raw, punchy, and full of midrange character, with the kind of dynamic sensitivity and pick response that humbuckers simply cannot replicate. Plugged into a good amp, this guitar covers everything from clean country twang to overdriven blues and rock with equal conviction.

Comes complete with original Gibson USA hardshell case, original Gibson P-90 pickup, and a spare black pickguard as photographed.
