It has a distinctly jazz-oriented ES-175 look, but the first-generation Howard Roberts signature is closer to an ES-335 thanks to its center block construction. This example dates from the first year of the “I” model: 1980. The maple neck features an ebony fingerboard, and it is equipped with a pair of Tarback pickups. It also includes a TP-6 tailpiece, like the Lucille. At some point in its life, it was fitted with a piezo pickup. Sold with its original case.
