VIDEO! 1970s Arirang (Hondo/Samick) LP-style guitar - pro setup, player ready

Intro:

Groovy 1970s Arirang LP-style guitar. Arirang was a brand name used by Samick (Korea; Arirang is a famous Korean folk song). Samick produced at the time guitars for various brands like Luxor, Johnny Guitar, Horugel, Zenta, and famously Hondo and Hondo II. While the Hondo II LPs featured DiMarzio humbuckers, the Arirang guitars had “fakebuckers” – singlecoils in humbucker housings. This guitar though was equipped with real humbuckers which actually work nicely in the guitar.

Measurements, weight and other specs:

-Scale:  628mm

-Nut: ca 4,2 cm

-Weight: 3,98 kg

-Pickups: two non-branded humbuckers measuring 10,97k (B) and 8,17k (N). The controls are V-V-T-T with both Volume controls in the upper row.

-Body: layers of wood

-Neck: slim C shaped neck, nato, with maybe rosewood fingerboard or other exotic hardwood fretboard with vintage frets, 12’’ radius

 Condition:

-Body: good to very good condition with some scratches on the back.

-Neck: neck is straight, no breaks, no fissures, trussrod works, frets are at 7/10 condition

-Head: good condition, normal signs of age.

-Hardware: normal signs of aging

-Electrics: everything works

-Originality: new humbuckers, new bridge with better intonation range. The rest is, aside from some screws, original.

 Sound and Playability:

-Playability and string action: excellent playability with very low string action of 1,5 mm on the 12th fret.

-Frets polished and fretboard cleaned/oiled

AFTER DELIVERY: After receiving the item, please inspect the package for obvious damages and make photos if there are any. After unpacking, check the item immediately for damages or other undocumented flaws. I accept a 14 days return and will pay for shipping if the item is in a different condition than described upon arrival. Please note that I will only take the item back entirely, but not grant any reduction of price and generally only accept returns if the item was unaltered after arrival.

CITES protection: all of the items I sell have been legally imported to the EU before January 1st 2017 and are registered with the authorities in Hamburg, Germany (if applicable).
