Joe Bonamassa Signature Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar
Joe Bonamassa is known worldwide not only for his exceptional guitar playing, but also as a world-class collector. One of the most prized instruments in his collection is a 1959 Gibson Les Paul Custom. Often referred to as the “Black Beauty,” late-1950s Les Paul Customs are already highly sought after, but Joe’s example is even more distinctive: a rare custom version with a two-pickup configuration instead of the standard three-pickup layout, along with Grover Imperial tuners and a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece.
The Epiphone Joe Bonamassa 1959 Les Paul Custom faithfully recreates this remarkable instrument at a more accessible price point. It features an all-mahogany body finished in Antique Ebony, with aged multi-ply binding for an authentic vintage-inspired look. The mahogany neck uses a 1959 Rounded Medium C profile and is topped with a bound ebony fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid block inlays.
The multi-bound 1960s Kalamazoo-style headstock features the Epiphone logo and the iconic Custom Split Diamond in mother of pearl, while a Graph Tech nut helps ensure solid tuning stability.
A pair of Epiphone ProBucker Custom pickups provides powerful, expressive tone, with individual volume and tone controls using high-quality CTS potentiometers. Gold hardware throughout, including the LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge, Grover Imperial tuners, and Bigsby B70 vibrato, completes the luxurious and classic appearance while adding tonal versatility and visual character.
This limited-edition Epiphone Joe Bonamassa ’59 Les Paul Custom includes a certificate of authenticity and a hardshell case with Joe Bonamassa “Nerdville” graphics. It is a fitting tribute to both a legendary guitarist and one of the most iconic electric guitars ever made.
