Launched in 1958 alongside the Explorer, both models were a major commercial failure at the time… it wasn’t until 1967 that Gibson resumed production of the Flying V (and not until 1976 for the Explorer!). This Flying V features a classic construction, with a mahogany body and neck and a rosewood fingerboard. On the pickup side, the Dirty Fingers units have the right look and are ready to deliver serious power. The styling is killer, in a Designer Series vibe; Van Halen–style stripes were added at some point, leaving noticeable “tan lines.” This guitar shows plenty of signs of use and is sold with its original case.
