Made in Kalamazoo, this semi-hollow stands out thanks to its natural finish, reminiscent of the early ES-335s from the late 1960s. The laminated thinline body with a center block offers an appealing balance between acoustic resonance and sustain. The main difference compared to an ES-335 is the three-ply maple neck; its profile is very similar, however, and extremely comfortable. The rosewood fingerboard with block inlays is in excellent condition, and the frets are in good shape. The nylon bridge saddles are original. Previously fitted with a Bigsby, the guitar was later returned to its original configuration with a trapeze tailpiece, the former mounting holes being neatly concealed by the “Custom Made” plaque. Should you ever wish to convert it to a stop tailpiece, it would therefore be very easy to do.
This is a great-sounding instrument: the original Patent Number pickups are excellent, open and clear, with a character reminiscent of fine PAFs. The rest of the electronics are original and function perfectly.
It comes with its original hard case.
