The Dr. Z Mini Z is a compact 5-watt boutique head designed to deliver authentic tube sound in a portable package perfect for home, studio or small live settings. Handcrafted in the USA, this head features an EL84 tube in the power amp and a 12AX7 in the preamp (GT-12AX7M), delivering smooth, organic and dynamic saturation even at low volumes. One of the Mini Z's strong points is the integrated attenuator, which allows for compression and break-up of the power tubes even at very low volumes, without losing the character of the sound. Management is very simple: just one volume control and an impedance selector (4/8 ohms), but the response is surprisingly musical and rich in harmonics. The head is finished in blonde tolex with compact dimensions (44.5 cm x 22.8 cm x 24.1 cm) and light weight (about 9 kg). It is the ideal amplifier for those looking for pure, plug-and-play tube sound, in an essential but extremely refined format.
