The Stranger (Silicon Fuzzrite clone). This one is an exact sonic replica of my very own 1968 eyelet board era fuzzrite.
This one has BC183 Silicon transistors, caps from TRW, CRL, and Wima and NOS carbon comp resistors built onto vero board in a Sola Sound style ultra strong construction.
This one also comes fitted with a sexy red LED and DC Jack for ultimate utility.
For those who don’t know, the Fuzzrite was one of the earliest fuzz pedals to hit the US market in the mid 1960s. To me it’s the most immediate psychedelic 60s sounding fuzz tone. It’s bright, it’s nasty, and it’s splatty. These later silicon models have a unique liquid sound to them. A perfect pairing for a liquid light show back drop and guiding your audience into the psychedelic dreamland 🍄
The fuzzrite is often associated with Iron Butterfly. To my ear the In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida riff sounds like one of these silicon versions 😈.
