Sonor HiLite // 22' 16' 14' 12' 10' 8' // Cleaned and restored

The Sonor HiLite, alongside the Sonor Signature, was the top-tier model from Bad Berleburg in the late 1980s until it was succeeded by the Designer Series in 1994.

All shells are 9-ply cross-laminated US maple. According to the stamps on the interiors, the offered kit dates back to 1989, though the 8" and 14" toms were likely added to the set later; they feature the characteristics of the final two production years (Torx instead of Phillips-head screws for the lugs, and open-ended rather than fully enclosed tubes between the lugs) and lack a year stamp. The finish is Piano Black.

The kit has been completely disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled. All rubber parts were cleaned and conditioned. The set has been fitted with brand-new drumheads all around: Remo Emperor Coated for all batter heads, Ambassador Clear as resonant heads for the 16" and 14" toms, and Remo Diplomat for the 12", 10", and 8" toms. The bass drum features a Powerstroke 3 Coated batter head and an Ambassador Coated resonant head with a narrow felt strip.

The condition of the kit is good to very good, with light scratches and signs of wear on all shells. Minor paint chips, especially on the bass drum hoops, have been touched up with a touch-up pen. The bearing edges on all drums are in flawless condition. All in all, and especially with the cleaned and polished hardware, the kit looks fantastic. Nonetheless—this drum kit has been played and wants to keep being played, because it sounds fantastic.

Not a museum piece for a display case, but built for the stage and the studio! Set it up, tune it, and start playing.
