Louder than a champ ,CLOSE TO A PRINCETON AND THE TONE IS AWESOME.
JUST SERVICED AND HAS A NEW 3 PRONG GROUNDED WIRE ,
MOSTLY RECAPED
ORIGINALY 2 x6v6 2 x 6sc7 one 5y3 tube.
ONE 6SC7 tube socket HAS NOW BEEN REWIRED FOR A new Sovtec 6SL7 TUBE
12 inch speaker code is 328019 which indicates a Utah speaker
Great little harp OR GUITAR amp!
The Lectrolab R200, R300 and R400 are all firmly ensconced in the “student” amplifier category. They were single-ended designs with one 6V6 output tube, or similar. They were similar to a Fender Champ in this regard.
Lectrolab upped the ante with the R500, which sports a 12″ speaker. Like theR400B it has individual first stage channels for instrument and mic. Each of these use half of a 12AY7, and have their own volume control. The signal from the first stages are mixed and then sent through a inverter (another 12AY7). The inverter output drives a push-pull pair of 6V6 output tubes, with a shared tone control along the way.| Listed | 10 years ago |
