The Les Paul Artist is one of the rarest and most unusual Gibsons from the Norlin era. Produced in very limited quantities between 1979 and 1981, it is distinguished by its active electronics developed with Moog, a true revolution at the time. In total, it is estimated that fewer than 500 examples were made, making it a highly sought-after model for collectors today. It features a mahogany body with a maple top, a five-piece maple/walnut neck, an ebony fingerboard, rectangular inlays, gold hardware, a brass nut, and a TP-6 pickup like the Lucille. It is equipped with a pair of T-Top pickups and offers features that were new at the time: compression, expansion, and a Bright mode, selected by three mini-switches. In beautiful condition, sold with its original Chainsaw case.
