The current Muramatsu DS model with a solid silver body and drawn tone holes has just arrived.

The DS model was introduced in 2003 by combining the previous DN and AD models, both of which featured solid silver construction with drawn tone holes.

The body and keys are handcrafted from solid silver, and the drawn tone holes are seamlessly formed from the body itself. This construction provides exceptional precision, allowing for smooth legato, crisp staccato, and outstanding response with a rich, expressive tone.

Another hallmark of Muramatsu flutes is the proprietary MA Pad. Unlike conventional felt pads, MA Pads are less affected by humidity and maintain a more consistent thickness, providing an excellent seal over the tone holes and a longer service life. These pads contribute greatly to the warm, rich resonance that Muramatsu flutes are renowned for.

The DS offers a comfortable amount of resistance while remaining easy to play, giving performers the freedom to express a wide range of musical ideas. It is one of Muramatsu's flagship handcrafted solid silver models.

Due to the recent increase in silver prices, the current retail price of a new DS model now exceeds ¥1,000,000, and long waiting times have become common because of high demand. These instruments rarely appear on the used market, making this an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for one.

As we do not stock genuine Muramatsu MA Pads, this flute is being offered without replacing the pads.

The pads show normal signs of use. None of them currently require immediate replacement, but compared with a typical flute, we recommend replacing them sooner as part of future maintenance. If desired, we recommend having the instrument serviced by your local repair technician after purchase.

Overall, the flute presents very well, with only some minor discoloration on a few plated parts.
