VHT D-212 Cabinet Stereo 60w/side, Mono 120w 2022 Excellent - Black

The VHT D-212 is a closed-back, vertical 2x12 cabinet loaded with VHT's own ChromeBack 12" speakers. That combination — finger-jointed poplar construction, closed-back design, and purpose-matched speakers — produces a focused, tight low end with pronounced mids and controlled high-frequency response. It suits high-gain amplifiers well but also works with cleaner tones where articulation matters. This cabinet is in excellent condition throughout.

VHT relaunched as a significant player in the boutique and mid-tier amp market in the 2010s, and their D-212 cabinet represents their in-house speaker program taken seriously. The ChromeBack drivers are VHT's own voiced design, built to complement their amplifier heads. The cabinet dimensions — 27.5" wide, 21" tall, 11.75" deep — keep it compact relative to its 120W mono (or 60W per side stereo) power handling. At 49 lbs, it's on the lighter end for a loaded 2x12, which the poplar construction contributes to. This example dates to 2022.

We have no issues to report on this cabinet. The black vinyl covering is original and in excellent condition. The tan wicker grille is original and in excellent condition. The leather handle is original. The VHT ChromeBack speakers are original and in excellent condition. No repairs or modifications have been made. No case or cover is included.

Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. Vintage amplifiers (20 years or older) are sold as-is — all amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
