Olivia's Vintage would like to present this 1965 Gibson reverse Firebird III with a non-reverse headstock in its original Cardinal Red finish. It has a good playing neck with good frets. It's all original with the exception of the screws for the truss rod cover, the jack, some minor redone wiring and an added ground wire where an additional narrow hole was drilled to connect the control cavity to the cavity underneath the bridge position pickup. A period correct reverse Firebird hardshell case is included, but it has wear indicating that a Firebird with a reverse headstock was used with this case. One interesting feature is the metal pickup surround for the neck position pickup. The underside of that surround is gold plated as Gibson used one intended for a Firebird VII and polished the gold plating off the top + sides. This RARE Firebird looks great with nicks + dings, finish checking and other cosmetic wear including some red touch-up around some of the edges. The guitar itself remains structurally sound with no cracks, breaks or repairs. All electronics work and sound great.
