Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a very collectible older 1950's era Shure Brothers 245S ceramic model microphone set at high impedance and was intended as an affordable, rugged "general purpose" mic. It was generally used for dispatch communications and recording purposes but happens to be sought after by harp players today for use with the harmonica. More on that later.

This mic comes with it's original Shure A-25 mic clip and cable in which to operate.

Pic # 2 is from a late 1950's advertisement showing the 245S basic characteristics. The ceramic mics were very similar to the crystal mics of that era and were less prone to degradation over the years. They just hold up much better. This particular mic was only made for about 10 years before being discontinued so you don't see may of them around and this example is a real gem.

The 245S and 777S were virtually the same mic with the exception of the elements used. The 245S was ceramic as where the 777S was a crystal type.

The 245S is an all metal construction with a gorgeous satin chrome finish that's lite weight and easy to cup in the hands which is why this is an ideal harp mic.

It should be noted right away that the mic still has it's original element and has been tested.   The signal strength is very healthy and really comes alive when cupped closely in the hand. I would rate the signal strength at 100%. The mic has a dirtier tone that is void of bass and has blistering overdrive.

As you can see this mic is in perfect condition with no wear. The front grill is free of any dents, dings or odors which is always a bonus. The Shure 245S label looks very nice and completely legible. The on / off switch works perfectly. You can go live only when needed with the push of the button or slide the button down and in for a full live hands free option. Please let the detailed pics be your guide.

The 1st gen harder to come by Shure A-25 mic clip is in excellent condition and works perfectly. Grip the mic firmly and will screw onto ant desk or floor stand you have.

The original 15 foot cable is soft, pliable and free of damage. It has the quality Switchcraft male 1/4 inch end connector that is wired correctly. Plenty of room to work with. This mic is ready to go.

If you demand a rarer, exotic mic for your harp mic that you can use on the daily then the 245S is a great choice.

                       As always...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened due to too many unpaid mics lately. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
