I’m selling an Audio-Technica ATM710, a handheld cardioid condenser vocal microphone that’s built around delivering condenser-level resolution in a format that’s actually practical to use close up, whether that’s on stage, in a vocal booth, or for broadcast-style recording. It’s in very good condition with no blemishes or marks, been really well looked after. There are 2 of these available in the same condition. Comes with a Shure mic clip and bag.

Sonically, it has a polished, detailed top end and a composed low-mid response that gives vocals a sense of immediacy and depth without becoming strident. The transient response is fast and controlled, so consonants and dynamics translate cleanly, and it responds well to compression and EQ without falling apart. There’s an onboard high-pass filter for managing proximity build-up and a -10 dB pad for louder singers or very close mic technique, which makes it adaptable across a wide range of voices and environments.

In use, it holds its own against microphones like the Neumann KMS 105, offering a similarly refined, condenser-forward presentation at a significantly lower price point. The cardioid pattern is stable and predictable, with good off-axis behaviour and rejection, making it easy to work with monitors or in less-than-ideal acoustic spaces. Handling noise is well controlled thanks to the internal shock mounting, and the metal construction feels solid and professional — this is clearly designed as a serious working microphone rather than a delicate studio piece.

If you’re looking for a premium handheld vocal mic with real condenser performance, and you’ve been considering something in the KMS 105 category without wanting to pay Neumann money, the ATM710 is well worth a look. Standard XLR output, requires 48V phantom power.
