1973 Gibson SG Standard
The bridge pickup on this guitar is an original Tarback, but the neck pickup is some sort of Tokai pickup.
The pots are dated to the 51st week of 1972.
Playability is good, apart from the 14th fret, which most likely needs to be replaced. (frets out when bending)
This SG has had its headstock rather crudely repaired by a previous owner, hence the bump behind the neck. The headstock had been altered from the original bigger 70s shape to a slimmer one, so I installed a new headstock veneer to fit the slim shape better. I glued a new piece of mahogany to the end of the headstock and carved it to match the Gibson "open-book" shape. It is by no means perfect.
The case included is a Toyogakki case most likely from the 70s.
