AKG C 460 B with CK61 cardioid capsule and CK62 omnidirectional capsule in very good aesthetic and functional condition. Product delivered in its original AKG case, rare on the second-hand market and even less in this configuration. The AKG CK61 ULS is a cardioid condenser microphone capsule, designed for the AKG C480B preamp. Ideal for voice and instrument recordings. The AKG CK62 ULS is an omnidirectional capsule for modular microphones from the ULS series, based around a single preamp. Particularly intended for recording, the range offers excellent performance in self-noise, sensitivity, admissible level and bandwidth. The CK62 ULS works with the C 460 B and C480 B preamp. Transistor preamplifier working with two capsules: CK 61-ULS in cardioid and CK 62-ULS for omnidirectional use. The C460B preamplifier can operate on all voltages between 9 and 52 Volts. The grain (the sharpness) is precise, supported as it is by a restitution of harmonics free of distortion. On the other hand, in proximity, it is advisable to take certain precautions not to harden the high end of the spectrum excessively. There is nothing prohibitive but however certain sources can shine excessively, brass and cymbals in particular. The violins, for their part, bring out a little acid, with frank and marked attacks with a fairly focused bow rub. The acoustic guitars feel their advantages mainly in rhythm. The useful axis is quite pronounced and the rear rejection is good. This is appreciable in intensity sound recording. The sensitivity to the proximity effect is, however, significant in linear position, even with a windscreen. The 70 Hz cut-off filter significantly reduces overload in excellent operating conditions on the voice, but be careful with sibilants, corrections are necessary! At 150 Hz, nothing remains but the voice is de-timbralized. This position will, however, be very useful on skin percussion. A very good microphone with almost perfect balance in sound recording carried out at a distance. But at close range, the increase from 10 kHz is more sensitive than with a C451 + CK1, so location precautions will be even more necessary than with the latter.
