Fender Japanese Telecaster '62 Reissue Vintage White (TL62B-80TX)

Up for sale, a 2008 Fender Telecaster Custom '62 Reissue in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This "Crafted in Japan" Telecaster is an extremely rare model, meant only for the Japanese domestic market, and features a milky Olympic White finish with black binding on the top and back of the instrument for a striking tuxedo look. Officially model TL62B-80TX, this guitar comes stock from the factory with USA Custom Shop Texas Special black bobbin pickups. If you're looking for a pickup that has a bit more kick than your traditional Tele pickup, with twang, snap and snarl, the Texas Special is a perfect choice. Even with it's slightly increased output from the pickups, the guitar still has Fender's signature clarity and chime, with biting treble response in the bridge position and smooth, sweet tones at the neck. The guitar weighs in at 7lbs 14oz.

The neck profile is a surprisingly girthy medium C, with a bit more heft than what's typically seen with a '62 reissue. The slab rosewood fretboard boasts Fender's traditional 7 1/4" fretboard radius, with a notably wide 1 11/16" nut and vintage style fretwire that shows only a touch of wear in the first position on the fret crowns and virtually no wear up the neck. The frets have their full original height, and the guitar plays cleanly up the neck with no buzzing or dead spots. On the headstock, the Kluson style Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well, and an era-correct "spaghetti" Fender Tele logo completes the vintage look.

All of the stock electronics work as they should, including the Fender Japan switch and pots paired with the USA Custom Shop Texas Special pickups. The chrome hardware is near mint, and the "Pat. Pending" bridge plate and finely grooved metal saddles are consistent with 1962 Fender spec! Cosmetically, the guitar is in exceptional shape, with only an extremely faint stray nick or two on the guitar as a whole, and an Olympic White finish that has aged and yellowed just a touch while still being definitively white. There is also a faint outline of a rectangular sticker which was once on the back of the guitar and has subsequently been removed. Overall, this is a very clean and well kept guitar with classic USA made Fender pickups and rare tuxedo looks!
