Radial JDX Reactor Amplifier Direct Box
Radial JDX Reactor – Original Version / 1st Generation
Original Radial JDX Reactor, first-generation model, produced before the introduction of the JDX 48.
The Radial JDX Reactor is a professional active amplifier direct box designed to capture the sound of a guitar amplifier directly from its speaker output.
Unlike a conventional DI box, the JDX features a fully discrete Class-A analog circuit, Radial’s unique reactive load sensing technology, and an integrated speaker cabinet simulator.
It captures the interaction between the amplifier and speaker, delivering the characteristic sound of a guitar 4x12 cabinet miked with a dynamic microphone.
The result is a natural, dynamic, warm and consistent guitar tone, perfect for both live performances and studio recording.
Features:
- Original first-generation JDX Reactor (pre-JDX 48 version).
- Fully discrete Class-A analog circuitry.
- Integrated 4x12 guitar speaker cabinet simulation.
- Reactive load sensing technology captures the interaction between the amplifier and speaker.
- Connects directly between the amplifier’s speaker output and speaker cabinet.
- Balanced XLR output for mixing consoles, audio interfaces and PA systems.
- Transformer-isolated design.
- Ground Lift switch to help eliminate unwanted hum and noise.
- External 15V DC power supply required (no 48V phantom power).
- Heavy-duty Radial construction, built for professional use.
Perfect for:
- Live guitar amp DI without microphones.
- Consistent guitar tone from show to show.
- Direct recording of tube amplifiers.
- Blending the direct signal with a traditional microphone.
A fantastic analog solution for capturing the true character of your amplifier with reliable and consistent results.
Important: The JDX Reactor is not a load box. Your amplifier must always remain connected to a suitable speaker cabinet or load box.
