The Juicer is a boutique compressor handcrafted in the USA, based on the legendary Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer circuit, famous for its use on numerous recordings of the 1970s, notably by Dire Straits, Steely Dan, and the Doobie Brothers. Unlike compressors like the Ross or MXR Dynacomp, it offers a smoother, more musical compression, with a very natural "squash" effect reminiscent of the compression and sag of a pushed tube amp. It also adds a subtle coloration and a touch of grit that are highly appreciated, while remaining remarkably responsive to touch. The pedal has only one external volume control, while the internal bias allows you to adjust the compression level. Equipped with NOS components such as Fairchild 2N5457 transistors, true bypass, and impeccable construction, it is also highly regarded as a boost or when layered before an overdrive.
