Original packaging (cardboard box) included
The Roland SH-2000 is one of the early classics of analog synthesizer history. Introduced in 1973, it remains highly appreciated by musicians and collectors for its distinctive warm analog sound and unmistakable vintage design.
Featuring 30 instantly accessible presets, the SH-2000 delivers an impressive range of sounds, including powerful basses, expressive lead voices, strings, brass, and unique special effects. Its fully analog sound generation produces rich, lively tones that fit perfectly into vintage, funk, progressive, electronic, soundtrack, and experimental music.
One of its most remarkable features is the pressure-sensitive keyboard with Roland's unique Touch Effects. Vibrato, Growl, Wow, volume control, and pitch bend can all be performed directly through key pressure, adding an impressive level of expression years before MIDI aftertouch became an industry standard.
Although designed as a preset synthesizer, the SH-2000 offers a surprising amount of sound-shaping potential. Filter controls, envelopes, portamento, modulation, chorus, and the distinctive Random Note Generator encourage creative experimentation while preserving its unmistakable analog personality.
Today, the Roland SH-2000 is considered a hidden gem among vintage synthesizers. It combines historical significance with a unique sonic character that stands apart from modern software emulations. Compared to many other classic analog synthesizers, it also remains relatively affordable, making it an excellent choice for collectors, performers, and vintage keyboard enthusiasts alike.
A genuine piece of synthesizer history—offering authentic analog character, expressive playability, and timeless vintage sound.
Condition: Cosmetically close to mint condition with only minimal signs of use (please refer to the detailed photos). Technically, the instrument is in very good working order and functions reliably. Only 1–2 keys produce slight scratchy noises, so cleaning the keyboard is recommended. The power supply has not yet been recapped. Although the unit operates reliably as it is, this preventive maintenance is generally recommended for vintage electronics in the long term.
