OVERVIEW:
Up for sale is a BURL BM 80 with a BDA8 8-Channel Digital-to-Analog converter daughter card , a BAD4 Analog-to-Digital converter daughter card and the BM80 chassis with power supply that includes the Burl Digilink daughter card. These original Burl Daughter cards don’t come up often and have the classic thicker robust low end that offer a warmer, fuller robust bottom end. I preferred the originals when tracking synths, bass, TR 808, kick drums and snare. Very polished especially when playing back into my SSL 4000 console. This unit is in excellent condition and has been handled with professional care.
The BM80 is the gold standard for high-end digital-to-analog conversion,. Newer Burl Daighter cards can be installed in this chassis including the new Burl BAD4M and BDA4M leveraging BURL’s proprietary NextGen Analog BOPA14 and BOPA 11 discrete, class-A op-amps. Both of these daughter cards contain the BX1 input transformer. If you are looking to bring a 3D soundstage, massive depth, and tight, defined low-end to your recordings Burl is the converter.
