Piggy's Marshall 9001 Stereo Valve Preamp 1989

This is Piggy’s Marshall preamp series 9001.

"This is the preamp you hear on the Voivod albums Nothingface and Angel Rat. He purchased it brand new in early 1989 right before the Nothingface session at studio Victor in Montreal. Then Piggy gave it to his luthier Mauro Liberatore sometimes in the 90s. Mauro kept it dearly until Piggy passed away in August 2005. He personally dedicated to posterity by writing on the top and back cover the feelings he had during that period. I ended up with it in 2009 after he told me he still had it and wanted to give it to me as a spare for touring. I did some major updates back in 1990 for the US tour with Soundgarden and Faith No More and maintained it since. Rewiring and replacing some of the potentiometers and all input/output jacks making it sturdier for touring. It is still fully functional. It does not come with the original footswitch since Piggy took it all apart “that was his style” and replaced it with his own version of a footswitch using old Boss pedals instead. It comes with three selected tubes for their placement, one JJ ECC82S V1 (first gain stage) and two SOVTEK 12AX7LPS V2 & V3 (Gain & EQ Stages)."
