The clone of El Musico Loco Blisterlily Overdrive pedal

A boutique one-man shop take on another one-man botique shop pedal, that was very popular back in the days of free internet...
No longer in production and getting extra hard to find these days, so here's your last opportunity to taste, smell and probably even lick (or whatever...) the legend! 😅

If you want a brief explanation - it's kinda like a TubeScreamer on steroids. And no noise at all, like if it has a built-in gate... 👌
And for those who has never heard about original creator - El Musico Loco was a 1-man operation shop ran by Chris Bradford in Spain. But like most of us, small businesses, unfortunately the project was really short lived... (getting back to the idea of supporting the real deal, and not the greedy corporations! 😔)

All those pedals originally came in a rather vulgar shiny and bulky enclosure. Mine has a calm solid Lavender color and packed insida a comfy MXR-style box. Also there's a socketed OpAmp on the inside where I offer a JRC4558D chip by default (feel free to swap it for anything you want or even stack another one on top of it!)

There are 4 controls at your disposal for setting up your tone: Volume, Tone, Drive and Gain.
Volume and Gain are obvious, being a TS-808 derivative this is not a high-gain "dem brutal death-metalz" pedal... The Drive and Tone controls are what sets this pedal apart!

It's brighter and there’s much more happening than just the typical midhump, while Drive messes up with input impedance of the circuit acting as a Pre-Gain control pretty much and allows to fine tune the amount of push coming from any array of pedals you put before it, while also gives each hand-selected OpAmp chip its unmistakable edge! (Originals came with variety of IC options and even used stacked OpAmps, each yealding a different result.)
When you dial the Drive back from max you will hear there’s not only a decrease in gain and volume but also a tonal change, affecting overall crispiness and sweetness.

Ah, and what's most important, unlike many TS-style designs, this pedal really shines with Humbucking pickups! Be it a dirty boost to bring out leads, or a full-on crunchy rhythm saturation...

Controls are:
Vol. - sets the output Volume of the effect. Should be self explanatory...
Gain - changes amount of Drive, ranging from mild to moderate Distortion.
Tone - your classic TS-style tone control: Bassier to the left, Treblier to the right...
Drv. (Drive) - crank it up for more Sizzle or dial it back for a creamy laid-back subdued Blues tone!
