Gibson for Yamano Music Japan Clapton cut EXPLORER 1990 - Nitro cellulose

Here is a very rare USA made 1999  "Clapton Cut" Gibson Explorer.

This was a special run made for Yamano Music, the former Gibson Distributor in Japan known for only ordering and accepting the highest quality Gibsons.

This Explorer was cut at the factory....this is not an “after-market” cut!!

This guitar is all original....even comes in it's original case with all the tags and paperwork as pictured.

Sounds and plays great. No issues. ’57 classic pickups

Cosmetically it is a super easy 9 of 10...maybe 95% or so of mint. No fret wear. Just a few very light dimples and impressions on the back and a little fading tarnish to the gold hardware. We did our best to picture these towards the very end...very minor stuff.

This is part of Limited Edition of what was probably 50 guitars or less.

Here is something special that you don't see every day, Eric Clapton has had quite the influence on rock n roll and is an icon when it comes to guitar. This Gibson Explorer with Clapton cut is an homage to his '58 that he masterfully shaped for more comfort and also less weight.

This Killer special order that shipped to Yamano on 5-23-2001 is absolutely the definition of 'killer" from the looks to the sound, this baby is fired and ready to unleash it's fire.

This is NOT one of the 25 Custom Shop Clapton Cut Explorers (they go for well over $7k) but it does have a long neck tenon...one of the very few production Gibson to get one of those.
