The Rupert Neve Designs 5045 Primary Source Enhancer is a powerful solution for live sound applications where microphone feedback is a concern. Capable of increasing gain before feedback by up to 20 dB, the 5045 is particularly effective for vocals and speech in churches, theatres, concert halls, and other challenging acoustic environments.

Unlike conventional noise gates, the 5045 uses a unique approach to signal attenuation, automatically reducing microphone gain when the performer stops speaking or singing and restoring it naturally when the signal returns. This intelligent operation minimises unwanted feedback without the audible artifacts often associated with traditional gating.

Built around Rupert Neve’s custom transformers, the 5045 features an entirely analogue signal path without digital processing or frequency filtering. Its straightforward controls allow precise adjustment of threshold, attenuation depth, and response time, making it equally suitable for professional live sound engineers and installations requiring minimal supervision.
