The sound quality is in excellent condition, with a bold and unrestrained character, a pleasing analog-like musicality, and superb dynamics. It fully conveys the essence of the music. What’s especially commendable is that it is very easy to listen to—no fatigue or harshness, unlike many professional and consumer-grade DACs that tend to suffer from such issues. Overall, its sound quality surpasses nearly all professional mastering DACs and the vast majority of high-end audiophile consumer DACs. In other words, it offers exceptional value for money.
I’m an audiophile, and I bought this unit brand new at the time, so it has never been subjected to heavy studio use. Its internal condition and sonic performance are simply impeccable. The DA-2 was released in three versions over time, and this unit belongs to the best-sounding version batch
