Condition
The guitar remains in remarkably original condition after more than fifty years.
The finish has aged beautifully with the warm patina expected from a carefully preserved vintage Martin.
The bridge, tuners, appointments and construction appear original.
No structural cracks are visible in the top, back or sides.
The bridge remains properly seated.
The pickguard shows a slight lift along one edge, a common and well-known characteristic found on many early-1970s Martins. It has intentionally been left untouched to preserve originality.
Normal cosmetic wear consistent with careful ownership over five decades is present.
Why this Guitar is Special
Collectors generally look for three things:
• Originality
• Condition
• Documented ownership history
This guitar offers all three, supported by an exceptionally complete set of original documentation.
Its originality is complemented by documentation rarely found together:
- original purchase receipt
- Martin registration paperwork
- Martin correspondence
- original hard case
Few surviving early-1970s Martin D-35S guitars can match this combination of originality, condition and complete documented history.
International buyers are welcome. The guitar will be professionally packed and fully insured for shipment. Additional photographs or videos are available upon request.
