PRS S2 SINGLECUT - MojoTone '59 Clone Pickups! - Gig Bag
Here is a wonderful guitar, quality made in the U.S.A! People will tell you about all the specs, yeah, you can learn about those anywhere, but I will tell you about the experience of playing this guitar, which will tell you much more.
Fine Wood. This guitar is made from one single piece of high quality mahogany, yes, one slab, with very even, straight grain. One piece of wood, no seams, no disparate pieces to disrupt the vibrations. Great "acoustic" tone (unplugged). 7 lbs. 5 ozs.
Fine Finish. This S2 is finished with a satin open pore stain/lacquer that gives the guitar the look and feel of fine furniture, while allowing the wood to resonate. It's a remarkably durable finish that wears well and doesn't show normal playing wear. The feel of natural wood on the neck gives the player a new playing experience. Smooth, not sticky, it's an organic connection to the instrument you don't always find in a guitar. This neck is a comfortable and familiar Pattern Regular, with a fast, slick, worn in feel, and easy, low action. You feel the wood, you experience the guitar. This is a McCarty Tobacco Burst.
The Upgrade: MOJOTONE '59 CLONES. Holy Smokes! I was blown away by the clarity and detail presented by these Low Output handwound pickups. I have never tried "boutique" humbuckers before, and the difference in clarity, note separation, (what some describe as 'articulation'), and forward presence in the mix was amazing. You play a chord, you hear every string. You play a lead, every note sings. Read some comments about them, you'll see. The Mojotones are brand new. They are in the same class as Seth Lovers or Gibson '59 Tributes, and their dynamics and expression are remarkable. A sweet match for the solid mahogany, and highly recommended. Check it out!
Please note: The MojoTones are single wire pickups, there is no coil splitting. The original controls (with push/pull switches) will remain, in case you want to use them in the future.
Fine Features. Locking tuners with brass poles. Solid aluminum wrap around bridge to convey the most string vibration through solid brass posts. MojoTone '59 clones with separate volume and tone controls to temper each pickup, (coil tap switches will remain). The favored white dots on the neck. A respectable 7 lbs. 5 ozs. gives a solid feel that doesn't weigh heavy on a long evening. The wonderful finish, and a great gig bag to protect it.
Fine Condition. Excellent. See the pics for a tiny spot on the face. Low set up with 10's. Ready for the stage!
