His may have been lacquered, this one is beautiful shiny silverplate with no dents, no prior repair. Serial # 401XXX=2003/04 manufacturing date. Ships from Tennessee, not from Japan like some other sellers units that receive U.S. CUSTOMS IMPORT TAX to the buyer for purchasing overseas. Smooth functioning valves and slides and a great sound. A PRO level horn for all levels. Manufactured in Japan with great construction YAMAHA quality.
