API 512c 500-Series Mic/Line/Instrument Preamp — Matched Pair | Excellent Condition

Up for sale is a matched pair of API 512c 500-series preamp modules in excellent condition — fully functional, no issues, cosmetically clean.

The 512c is one of the most iconic preamps ever made. Built around the legendary API 2520 op-amp and API’s proprietary transformers, it delivers the classic API sound: punchy low-end, crisp highs, and that unmistakable musical color that has appeared on countless hit records. Faithful to the original Saul Walker circuit design, hand-assembled in the USA.

Key features:

• Up to 65 dB of mic gain, 45 dB line/instrument gain

• Low noise (-129 dBu EIN)

• Front-panel XLR mic input + ¼” Hi-Z instrument input

• +48V phantom power, -20 dB pad, polarity flip

• LED VU meter

• Rear-panel mic input support for compatible 500-series chassis

Equally at home tracking vocals, drums, guitars, or anything else — these pres are incredibly versatile and play well with virtually any microphone. Selling as a pair; grab both for a proper stereo front end.

Fits any standard 500-series chassis (Lunchbox, etc.). Selling due to studio restructuring.
