OPTICAL CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition overall. The microphone shows only minor surface wear to the paint consistent with age and careful use. The housing, grille, and rear port structure remain beautifully preserved, making this a particularly attractive example of an early Beyer dynamic microphone.

TECHNICAL CONDITION
Fully functional and sounding excellent. The dynamic capsule delivers a strong and clear output with the characteristic focused tonal balance typical of this model.

The M41 features a highly rugged construction with a metal housing combined with integrated molded structural elements for durability and reduced handling resonance. The front section uses a fine protective metal mesh to shield the capsule, while rear acoustic ports help control airflow and tuning. Output is via a large 3-pin Tuchel connector.

SOUND CHARACTERISTICS

The M41 has a very distinctive tonal balance. Unlike many larger vintage dynamics, it does not produce heavy bass or exaggerated low end. Instead, the sound begins more prominently in the low-mid range and pushes forward into the mids with a focused, articulate character. There is a slightly nasal quality to the response, though in a very musical and controlled way rather than sounding harsh or unpleasant.

This kind of tuning makes the microphone especially interesting for speech, communication, radio-style applications, or creative studio recording where reduced bass buildup is desirable. It could also work extremely well on snare bottom, percussion, guitar cabinets, or any source where a tighter low end and pronounced midrange detail are beneficial.
