Quantec QRS – "champagne" / purple edition

Up for grabs is a legendary Quantec QRS digital reverb processor, late 1980s / early 1990s German high-end classic algorithmic reverb. Rare "Champagne"/purple edition

Unit is cosmetically very clean inside and out for its age, appears complete and unmodified. With some exceptional features, such as hardly any signs of having been racked (no "rash"). Front panel generally in excellent condition, except for one missing button cap label (“mute” function, which otherwise works as it should) and some aging of the display panel. Illuminated characters are well readable. Some scratches.

The unit will occasionally show the following operational issues and is therefore sold strictly AS IS / FOR SERVICE:

• preset memory not fully accessible: presets load but outputs remain muted, with parameter controls inactive
• in default mode / preset 1 everything operates normally, with full algorithm and parameter control. Audio passes correctly, including freeze function and mute (buffer reset).

Based on preliminary inspection, the issue is likely related to low preset memory battery, age-related PSU part problems and/or oxidized internal control connectors rather than board damage. No signs of severe corrosion or battery leakage observed.

Price is *heavily* reduced accordingly. I intend to have the unit professionally serviced ASAP but am offering this now for a brief time if you prefer to have your favorite technician look into this instead of mine. Expected service cost estimated around 150–700€, depending on complexity. Once I have this serviced the price will increase to still attractive market levels (~4500€). Keep in mind these go for 5-7k on Reverb.
