Players K. Yairi YW-500P 1979

Here for consideration today is a players grade Yairi YW-500P (P denotes ‘three piece’ back in the style of the Martin D-35)

So this is a mid range piece with very high grade solid soundboard, typical of K. Yairi’s discerning eye, the quality of materials used in this guitar are not generally available today, certainly not at this price point.

With its impressive tone, competing well with higher range USA guitars, it is fair to say this also excels most if not all other Japanese guitars at this price level and from this era.

It’s a players piece with many signs of musical skirmishing, as would be appropriate for a guitar near to half century, flaws are highlighted in the photo's, in reality of course looking much sweeter!

There are no repairs or restorations, no structural issues.

Frets are okay with no problems.

The minimum setup should be in the region of 2.5mm at 12th
