Slingerland Hollywood Ace “Swing Radio King” Snare Drum
14" × 7" — Duco Blue Silver finish (produced between 1939 and 1954)

A powerful and highly desirable Slingerland Hollywood Ace Swing Radio King snare drum, featuring the classic 1-ply solid shell construction that defines the legendary Radio King sound. Finished in Duco Blue, this drum delivers exceptional depth, warmth, and projection.

The snare is in very good condition for its age, with only minor areas of paint wear consistent with vintage use. All hardware and components remain original and fully functional, preserving both authenticity and playability.

It is fitted with the original three-point strainer, internal tone control, 16 beavertail lugs, and period-correct “stick-chopper” hoops with the Slingerland logo engraved, a hallmark of this era.

The unmistakable Radio King tone comes from its single-ply, steam-bent solid wood shell (typically North American maple or mahogany), shaped into a seamless cylinder. Combined with rounded 30-degree bearing edges, the result is a fat, resonant, and focused sound with rich sustain and controlled overtones.

A fantastic-sounding snare drum from the great American drum-making tradition, equally suited for studio work or live performance.

The snare has been carefully stripped and thoroughly cleaned, and will be professionally packed and shipped worldwide from Portugal.
