Here’s a very cool 1968 Fender Telecaster Bass that you don’t see every day looking like this. Originally introduced in 1968, the Telecaster Bass is renowned for its distinctively twangy sound and comfortable playability, and has been used by players like Bruce Thomas of Elvis Costello and The Attractions, Mike Mills of R.E.M., and Graham Maby of Joe Jackson’s band.
Apart from the obvious refin in a very nicely judged nitrocellulose Fiesta Red, this particular bass is original apart from a replacement pickguard. Pots date to 1966, but this is not unheard of so are most likely original.
