Vintage Dallas-Arbiter Fuzz Face, most likely 1972-1973. This is a slightly later Dallas-Arbiter “smile” logo example with the version 4 style round enclosure, early 1970s decal-style graphics, and the correct two-knob layout with Volume and Fuzz controls.
Inside, the pedal has the original early 1970s silicon circuit layout, including a matched pair of BC209C transistors. This transistor type is consistent with later Dallas-Arbiter silicon Fuzz Faces from this period. The internal board, resistor set, capacitors, switch, wiring, and jacks are all period-correct and coherent together, with no obvious signs of major rework or a rebuilt circuit.
The 470K MEC pot looks cleaner and newer than the other control pot. It may be a later replacement, but it may also be original and just aged differently. There are no visible date codes on the pots without taking the whole pedal apart, so an exact year cannot be guaranteed, but based on the enclosure, branding, graphics, knobs, and BC209C transistor pair, this pedal is 1972-1973.
All in all, just a killer Fuzz Face from the classic UK-made era that rocks!
