A real piece of Gibson history here — a 1955 ES-175 in classic Sunburst. One of the most iconic jazz guitars Gibson ever made, and a model that’s been a go-to for players for decades thanks to its warm, woody hollowbody tone.
This guitar has clearly lived a life, which is pretty normal for a 70-year-old instrument. The top has sunk slightly, most likely due to heat affecting one of the internal braces at some point. The brace isn’t sitting perfectly in place anymore, but it’s still attached in the original glue and remains stable.
The guitar has been this way for many years.
The guitar comes with a newer, non-original Gibson case. The original tuners and pickguard are included in the case.
Not a museum piece — but a very cool and honest vintage ES-175 with loads of character and that unmistakable old Gibson hollowbody sound.
