1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom that’s a nice example of the late-70s era. The Custom was marketed as the “top-of-the-line” Les Paul, featuring upgraded appointments, multiple binding layers, gold hardware, and an ebony fingerboard.
By 1978, the Les Paul Custom typically featured a three-piece maple neck and a “pancake” (multi-layered) mahogany body and carved maple top.
This example features the original slim-profile neck and original low “fretlesss wonder” frets. The neck has been sanded down on the back for a more satin-y feel, a common modification in period. Electronics are all original, only changes are the knobs and the pickups rings. The original pickup rings are included. Weight is 4500g.
The guitar comes in its original Gibson “chainsaw” protector case with blue plush interior. One latch is broken, but this is still a very desirable case.
