The Gibson Super 400 has long been the flagship archtop of the Gibson lineup, embodying the pinnacle of craftsmanship, tone, and elegance.

Introduced in 1934 as an evolution of Gibson’s previous high-end models, the Super 400 quickly became synonymous with jazz and big-band music, favored by some of the greatest guitarists in history. Players such as Wes Montgomery, Scotty Moore, and Kenny Burrell all contributed to its legendary status. Over the decades, the Super 400 has remained a premier choice for guitarists seeking an instrument that blends stunning aesthetics with unparalleled acoustic and electric performance.

This 1998 Gibson Super 400 was originally supplied by Woodstock Guitars and was hand-picked by us from the Gibson Memphis factory. It remains in great condition, exhibiting only minor playwear. There is a small, original finish imperfection on the lower bout below the pickguard, and the gold hardware has very slight age-related tarnishing. The guitar plays wonderfully and fully lives up to its lofty reputation as the king of the Gibson archtops, delivering the rich, full-bodied tone and effortless playability that have made the it one of the most sought-after archtops in history.

This guitar comes with its original Gibson brown case with a purple interior, which is in good condition. Weight is 3600g. An iconic guitar and true masterpiece, this 1998 Super 400 is a rare find in cherry finish and simply awesome in every way.
