1994 Tokai LC model Custom Black Beauty excellent condition and in perfect working order. A rare Japanese-made Tokai, this guitar features a solid mahogany body and carved top, with a mahogany neck and ebony fretboard with fret edge binding and pearloid blocks. Particularly light for an LP at 8lbs 15oz.

The neck has a slender C shape at the nut, tapering imperceptibly up the board with moderate shoulder and a fast, easy-playing feel in every register, measuring .815" deep at the 1st fret and .950" at the 12th. On the bound ebony fretboard, the original frets retain their full factory height and have a taller, rounder fret dress than most vintage Gibsons. The frets show moderate wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-2, with wear growing increasingly lighter on the crowns until fret 9. This Tokai has a 24 3/4" scale and 1 11/16" wide nut. The headstock has multi-ply binding, split diamond inlay, and original tulip button tuners with clean gold plating.

 The gold hardware shows uniform surface patina, and vintage-spec plastic parts include the amber switch tip and witch hat knobs. Cosmetic wear includes a few small shallow nicks on the top and a tighter concentration of minor marks on the back. There is light scuffing across the pick path and a couple small finish chips on the top edge of the headstock central to the open book shape. The neck profile shows some scattered shallow marks as well as two small finish chips, but nothing impeding playability or distracting to the palm while fretting.
