Stamped internally: D. Nicolas Aine, A la Ville de Cremone. Signed internally: D. Nicolas, aine
I think this violin is likely to have been made in the workshops of "A la Ville de Cremone" in France by Didier Nicolas l'aîné, a French Violin maker (1757 – 1833), France, in the late nineteenth century
This business was one of the largest violin making business in the area.
It is structurally in very good order.
Those type of vintage violins it have a richer and darker tone, especially in the lower registers.
The violin has NOT been restored.
