After making a name for himself replicating the great American guitar brands in the early 1970s, Ibanez began developing his own guitars in the mid-1970s. One of the first creations was the Artist series, a double cutaway solid body guitar that quickly became a hit. The AR420-VLS is the re-edition of one of these classics. The classical violin sunburst lacquer in combination with the Flamed maple top makes the guitar a real eyecatcher. Mahogany body with maple/rosewood neck, ART-1 bridge with Gibraltar Quick Change tailpiece and Ibanez Super 58 Custom pickups with tri-sound circuit.
