BBE Opto Stomp Optical Compressor V1
The Opto Stomp is an optical analog compressor designed to deliver smooth, musical and fairly warm compression, inspired by the optical circuit used in the brand’s B-Max preamps. Its design favors gradual, natural compression rather than a pronounced effect, helping to even out dynamics while preserving the instrument’s character and attack. It features simple controls, including Output and Threshold, as well as a -15 dB input pad for high-output signals and an LED indicating the amount of compression. It features true hardwire bypass and runs on 9V, either from a battery or an AC adapter. Its frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with a claimed signal-to-noise ratio of 101 dB and 0.01% THD.
