Brilliant and rare British mixing console.

Originally purchased from Soundgas in the UK for much more plus shipping to Copenhagen. After I bought it, a former BBC engineer spent a full week servicing it and recapping the remaining channels that had not already been recapped prior to the sale.

Calrec and Neve were among the major manufacturers supplying consoles to the BBC, and these desks are right up there with some of the best-sounding British consoles ever made.

The console is currently missing around six modules to be completely filled (not as many as shown in the main photo, which is from Soundgas). The only thing that currently needs attention is two of the power supplies. It runs 24 channels perfectly on the working supplies as it is, but the remaining PSUs need to be checked/serviced, after which the entire console will be fully operational again.

The routing possibilities on this thing are pretty insane: 36 stereo channels, 24 buses, 8 groups and 10 aux sends. It offers the routing capabilities of a full-size console while taking up roughly half the space.

The console was previously owned by Ben Frost during the period when he was working on the beautiful soundtrack for the Netflix series Dark. It colours sound in an incredibly beautiful and distinctive way.

Also included are six stereo compressor modules that were not part of my original purchase. They sound absolutely incredible and have loads of character.

I have also wired the console's signal paths to a Bantam/TT patchbay, which can be included in the sale.

I'm moving into a much smaller studio, so I'm considering letting it go. The last photos show other similar Calrec consoles, including one from MTV currently being offered for considerably more. ;)
