This microphone is definitely NOT a Neumann U87 - it is a very good copy, the manufacturers have even copied the carton which it comes in using the Neumann name.

It comes with a suspension mount and an XLR - XLR lead, plus a wooden box and is ready for use. It is a large capsule condenser microphone requiring 48 volts phantom power, it is a fixed cardioid mic whereas a real U87 has a switchable pick up pattern.

The copy mic looks very much like a U87 but slightly smaller, rather like a U89. The copy works OK but the sound is not like a real U87 as it does not have the depth of sound.

If you have a small demo studio and want to impress your clients a couple of these on stands about the place may do the trick even if you do not plug them in.

A genuine Neumann suspension mount will cost you over £300 - for this price you could buy 6 of these U87 Copies as we are selling them for £50 per kit comprising Microphone, Suspension Mount, Wooden Jewellers case plus shipping and insurance
