Kremona is a brand that truly deserves to be better known throughout Europe. Founded in 1924 in Kazanlak, Bulgaria, the company has more than a century of experience in the manufacture of string instruments and continues a genuine tradition of European luthiery, with production carried out in its own workshops. Kremona also maintains a strong commitment to craftsmanship, with wood selection and preparation, bracing voicing and final setup still involving extensive hands-on work by skilled craftsmen.
The Fiesta F65CW-SB is a perfect example of this philosophy and, in our opinion, one of the most interesting guitars in the Kremona range when it comes to value for money. This is far more than a standard electro-classical guitar fitted with good electronics: the level of craftsmanship is particularly ambitious for this price range. The guitar features a solid German spruce top and a solid Indian rosewood back, combined with Indian rosewood sides, an ebony fingerboard, a Honduran cedar neck and bone nut and saddle. This selection of premium tonewoods is particularly impressive and represents one of the major strengths of this Fiesta.
The use of solid woods naturally makes a real difference to the sound. The spruce top delivers a dynamic, precise and highly expressive response, reacting equally well to a light touch or much more energetic playing. Combined with Indian rosewood, it produces a broad, deep and balanced voice, with rich basses, focused mids and enough clarity in the high frequencies to retain excellent note definition. Kremona itself describes the guitar as having a balanced tonal character, with rich lows and well-defined mids, making it particularly suitable for classical, jazz and pop styles.
However, it is especially on stage that the F65CW-SB really shows its full potential. Kremona has chosen the Fishman Prefix Pro Blend, a particularly comprehensive system combining an undersaddle piezo pickup with an internal microphone. The player can blend the two sources to achieve a much more natural and richer sound than with a conventional piezo system alone. Master volume, bass and treble controls, semi-parametric contour EQ, phase switching and, importantly, the notch feedback filter allow the guitar to be adjusted very precisely for a wide variety of live or studio situations.
And this is exactly where the Fiesta F65CW-SB becomes particularly difficult to compete with. At a comparable price point, it is very challenging to find among Spanish manufacturers a guitar offering this combination of build quality, solid tonewoods and such a comprehensive Fishman Prefix Pro Blend system. Many competing Spanish models in this price range offer either less ambitious construction, laminated backs and sides, or considerably simpler electronics. Here, Kremona has clearly chosen to invest a significant part of the budget in the intrinsic quality of the instrument rather than relying solely on marketing or brand positioning.
In short, the Kremona Fiesta F65CW-SB is a guitar we particularly recommend to players looking for a serious, versatile and durable electro-classical instrument. Its high-quality tonewoods, including solid German spruce and solid Indian rosewood, its ebony fingerboard, cutaway design and, above all, its Fishman Prefix Pro Blend electronics allow it to compete in a category usually occupied by considerably more expensive instruments. Kremona has achieved something quite rare here: offering genuine European craftsmanship, an excellent selection of premium woods and professional-grade electronics, while maintaining an exceptionally competitive price.
